What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? COLORADO

I received a Summons to Appear in court in approx. 3 weeks. I had my previous employer say that I used company accounts to purchase personal items. They did allow me to pay the invoices directly, but the corporate office is saying I didn't have permission.

1st, do I need to reply to this Summons? It doesn't say anything like that.

2nd, do I need an attorney for this?

3rd, If I do need an attorney, can I try and get a Public Defender now? I really don't think I can afford an attorney, but I'm sure I will need one.
