What is the name of your state?
Illinois

My son and his friend had their bikes stolen from his friend's car parked on his own property. By chance his friend spotted the perpetrator riding the bike and demanded the bike back. Then an officer arrested the perpetrator.

My son did not get his bike back and the officer is not getting it back for him either. Nothing is being done. I am afraid that because the bike is not returned promptly, that it will either be sold for parts or vanish completely.

What can I do to get my proerty back as my son is a minor and I paid for this bike?

I want to prosecute but the states attorney will not do it? What is going on here?
