transporting stollen property

transported stollen property
My son(17) works at a burger place and bought a dirt bike (100.00 ) from another local boy. The bike was in pieces in the other boys garage, and after 6-7 weeks of hunting the boy down to get his bike or his money back, the other boy said he had done some work for a man who had traded him anotehr dirt bike and a 4wheeler,and if my son would give him and a friend a ride to the next town to pick up the trade items, they would finish my sons bike with two parts from the traded items. My son came to me,explained and asked to use the truck, and did help them pick up the two vehicles and take them to this other boys house. He recieved his dirt bike the following week. On monday we got a call from local police saying my son transported stollen property! the other boys had previously stollen the two items, stashed them, and then used my son to transport them to our town. My son went to the police station and gave a statement, and the officer said that the other two boys had confessed to the theft, and police had already picked up the stollen items. The officer said he could not say if he would come and arrest my son or not. My question is: what should I brace myself for? My son has never been in any trouble before, and my worst fears are taking over my every thought. We live in Texas. Can anyone offer any advice?

The other boys confessed, your son gave a statement and wasn't arrested. It sounds as if he is being treated like a witness, not a suspect. It's always possible he could be charged later, but it doesn't sound like it.
