What is the name of your state? Michigan
id like to know thew procedure for turning myself in on a probation violation from around 5 yrs ago. Do i need a lawyer first, can i set up a court date?
the violation was for not reporting i left state and have no new charges.

You could just walk into any law enforcement agency... but I suggest you talk with a local (MI) attorney or some other responsible person (clergy, etc.). They can likely contact the authorities on your behalf and negotiate the circumstances of your surrender.
