unauthorised use of a vehicle

What is the name of your state? ohio
The vehicle was purchase for me and I paid the deposit, insurance, payments, tags and HE never drove it. Eight months after I leave the state of Ohio and 24 payments later. HE goes to the county and tells them he did not give me permission to take the vehicle across state lines. So a very nice policeman calls me and tells me what HE has done and that I have to return the vehicle.

I was not happy about but the nice police officer told me that since the vehicle was in HIS name that if I didn't make arrangement to return the vehicle their would be a warrant issued.

So I worked with the very nice police officer and made arrangements with him to return the vehicle. Two days after the vehicle was returned the very nice police officer calls and says THINGS did not quite work out the way he had indicated to me. The very nice police officer says there was a warrant filed for my arrest anyway. But for me not to worry it was only issued in Ohio. Now what?

Does this have to do with your jail time?

If an arrest warrant is issued for you, the best thing to do is show up in the jurisdiction where you had a warrant put on you, and turn yourself in. But before you do collect any and all documents that relate to the ownership of the vehicle, and take copies of them with you. This includes any registration, transfer of ownership from the DMV, payment records, insurance records, whatever. But make sure to take copies, because it is not guaranteed that you will get them back.
Bring the originals if you can, but give the copies to the police to keep.

Don't take my word on these things, look up the laws yourself. Look for your state's legislature page, you can find them there.

There are a wide range of people on this forum, don't expect all of us to be friendly, especially if you are not.
