Unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle

My son, who is 19, was arrested for unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle.

This is a class C felony in Alabama.

This isn't the first time he's been in trouble (had some problems as a juvenile) so we're leaving it up to him to find an attorney, pay any court/attorney fees, etc..

My question is, what could this potentially cost him and what type of sentence could he be looking at?

I know it's a broad question but I'm ignorant with all of this and was trying to find some answers on the internet.

Class C felonies (assuming no prior felonies) are punished by 1-10 years, and in addition may bring a $15,000 fine.
