Warrant for FTA

What is the name of your state? Arkansa

I'm freaking out! I recieved a ticket, my only and first run in with the law, and I did not show up for my court date. (tons of excuses, was out of town and misplaced the ticket and thought it was a different day and didn't realize it could be that harsh). I received a notice in the mail that I have a warrant for my arrest and it says on the notice that I needed to contact the police department and pay the fine or risk being arrasted at home, job, etc.. Okay, so, if I walk in the police department with the money, will they arrest me? Second, does this go on my record and stay? I am really upset! And really ticked at my self! Does this qualify for tempory insanity or just dumbness? Please help!

It qualifies as 'dumbness'.

Contact the court and see what your options are. I am not familiar with AR law, so I don't know if an FTA would result in a warrant, but if I had to guess, I'd say it does.

They aren't likely to toss you in jail if you work out a new court date, but that's no guarantee. And it's also likely that your license is - or soon will be - suspended because of the FTA.

Contact the court and see what they say you need to do to clear up the matter.
