warrant issued from charge when I was a minor

What is the name of your state? Arizona. Iam 20 and was recently issued a warrant for my arrest on a charge that happened when I was 17. How can I take care of this? Shouldn't this have been dropped when I turned 18?

Warrants are always effective unless it is quashed, answered, or the person dies. Occasionally jurisdictions will clear out old warrants to straighten up a bit, it is usually those from over 20 years ago. But recently in my area, a guy was picked up on a warrant from 1953. And turning 18 doesn't mean the warrant goes away, you can still be held liable for your actions when your were a minor.

What you need to do depends on how serious the charges are. If the warrant is for a minor misdemeanor, you can probably show up at the court house, get a couple minutes with the judge and walk out owing a small fine. If the charges are serious enough for you to possibly be locked up, you would want to show up at the court house with a lawyer in tow. You could also ignore it but you will always be looking over your shoulder. For something as trivial as a minor traffic infraction could result in you being hauled off to jail and having your vehicle towed. All of that can get expensive too.

the charge is a misdamenor assult charge. I went once and paid bail for it. I then talked to a judge and she told me to take a behavioral class and it would be dropped. I went to the place had the interview, and was told that I would be called with the date of the class. This never happened and every time I would call them I would have to leave a message but never was contacted. Then I went down there and the lady told me that she had sent all my paper work to the county prosicutors office. Thats when I guess another warrant was issued ( the current one)
