What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CT. My 27 yr. old daughter has a felony in RI and transferred her probation to CT. In CT she has another felony and served time. She is currently clean and sober for past 2 years. She was also diagnosed with Bipolar and is stable on her meds. She is in school currently for Biller/Coder and completes her certification in January 09.She is a straight A student. She also has a lease on an apartment and is working full time. Her parole officer said she is a model parole. She has been in counseling. The problem is they are transferring her from parole to probation. When she went to probation "intake" she was told RI has a warrant for her for probation violation. Do you think they are going to put her back in jail for this violation, even though for the first time in her life she is doing well. When she had the felony in RI, she was not diagnosed with Bipolar at that time. Her diagnosis was made in CT, and it took the Psychiatrists awhile to get her on the proper meds to help her stabilize. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

If she had her probation transferred from RI to CT, then I'm not sure how she could have violated probation in RI?

Did CT actually accept her into their probation system from RI? Were there any fees she was supposed to pay to RI for the transfer?

Do you know what it was that RI violated her for?

Just because the probation department in another state is administering the probation doesn't mean you our not obligated to the state in which you were convicted. Almost every set of conditions that a transferred-to probation department has says these are "in addition to whatever they told you to do in the first state." Sure she can get violated in the original state. A lawyer is needed.
