warrant for spouseWhat is the name of your state? Florida My wife has been charged with stealing checks from her employer. She has been arrested once and released on bond. There is now another warrant for her for additional check theft charges from the same employer. She has now moved to another state although we are still married. She says she will return for her court dates which are not for another three months. I didn't find out about the crimes until after she had been arrested the first time. My question is what legal obligation do I have to tell the police when they come looking for her for the outstanding warrant? Can I say I don't know where she is although it can be proven (phone records, etc.) that I do? Can I get into some kind of legal trouble? |

| Ah, since she is out on bond, the police probably won't put in much effort to locate her--i.e. they will come out and if no one is at home, then they will move. But the bonding company sure will. Bonding companies are very imaginative and creative in locating the accused. If I were in her situation and knowing what I do, I would surrender myself before the bonding company comes to pick me up. |
