Question

which way would be best?

i've posted questions before about things happening at my old job but since i've been arrested i don't know which would be the best approach to defending myself.

my brother got ahold of my employers checking account number and payed off bills and bough luxury items with it.

i was arrested friday march 8th, for attempting financial institutional fraud. my brother has verbally confessed to the officers and alot of our friends that he was the only one to know where he was getting this money and that he doesn't know why they arrested me. would it be better to go hire a lawyer or have a court appointed lawyer? would it make a difference since anybody can put 2 and 2 together? when he confessed to doing all of it and there are witnesses that have heard him say that should i have to pay for somebody or get one free.

the bonds man said with it only being a class c felony, that i might just get probation to 10 yrs. i've never had a criminal background and i wasn't even involved this time. any answers would be greatly appreciated. either reply or email me at bantough@aol.com

Whether you get a court-appointed lawyer depends on your income, not on theevidence. If you do not meet the income requirements for a court-appointed lawyer, you will have to hire a private one. Unless your brother worked for your employer too, you will have to figure out how to explain how your brother got your employer's financial information.
