website, for warrants? What is the name of your state? Georgia is the state I am interested in. In one of your other posts I saw reference to a user searching a Florida website to discover there was a warrant for his arrest, in Florida. Is there a similar website in Georgia (I mean, a free website, probably state owned) where one can tell whether there is a warrant in Georgia for his or her arrest? I know there are umpteen websites that claim they will get this information for you, for a price. But shouldnt this be a matter of public record? |

| Warrant records are not the type of things police or prosecutors want out in the public. It is much easier to catch scofflaws if they do not know they have a warrant. The websites that charge for this info go to the courthouses and get lists of outstanding warrants. In most cases, it is bounty hunters that use this info because it also shows how much bail was posted. In fact, most sites only list those that have jumped bail. The easiest way to find out if you have a warrant is to have someone call the courthouse that would have issued the warrant. The caller may need to know your DL or Social Security number. |
