my not yet ex-husband who is now living with someone new (which is very good for me) has filed aggravated assault charges with a deadly weapon because he was drunk. I was at his residence with my daughter who was acting in self-defense after he pushed her and called her every other name than her own. I did not touch him not to mention even have a weapon of any kind as we went there so he could see the tatoo that she got for himself was not as bad as he thought. He says that he has spoken to the DA so that the charges can be dropped but was told the state has picked them up because we left the scene which I now kick myself for leaving but did not want the rest of my 4 children to see anymore. What recourse do I have now? My daughter is also facing an assault on a family member. Oh yeah, my daughter is only 4'11" and 115 pounds, her dad - 6'1" weighing in at 180. He said that he ended up at the hospital with 2 black eyes and a broken nose! The weapon - gun?
