What Can I Do to get Warrants/Felonies Served? What is the name of your state? Illinois My ex has several warrants and felonies allready processed for Failure to Support a Dependent Child, as well as a 15 page record. He lives VERY close by. He has not seen our 8 yr old daughter in 7 years, as he was given no visitation or custody. This was due to his violent behavior and failure to show up at Supervised visitation that was scheduled for his opportunity to build a relationship with his daughter. He moved to FL to avoid paying child support, but has recently returned. Another warrant was issued in November, and also a felony, but none of these have been served. I have exhausted myself trying to get help through our County States Attorney, the Sheriff's Dept, and the Sheriff's Dept and the Detective Division he lives in just down the road from us. I get no return calls and he is still running around scott free. What can I do to get these warrants and felonies served to him before he moves again? I have not received court ordered support for over three years, am battling breast cancer and need this money to raise my daughter. Thank you for your advice |

| Anyone can serve a felony warrant. Find someone bigger than him and have him grabbed and held while you call the police. What reason do the police give for not serving the warrants? I am guessing that you called them and said my ex is at xxxx address and he has 2 felony warrants? Those calls come in all the time. If the police will not come get him once he is detained, take him to them. Call a bailbondsman, they have folks on salary that do this all day. If they will get a reward so to speak, they should do it. I dont understand why the police dont though |

| It does sound odd that the police haven't moved on this. You didn't say whether or not he's pulled any time before, but with a 15 page record and history of violence, I'm wondering if he's on parole now by any chance. If so, you should also get in touch with your state's parole division and advise them what's up. It might take them a few weeks to process a warrant for violation of parole (if there is a reason to process one for violation, such as absconding, i.e. traveling out of the county or state when one is not supposed to), but when and if they do issue one for absconding, the police might move faster to pick him up on all outstanding warrants. If they can't get him on absconding (even if they can), I do like the idea of a big, mean, SOB holding him down while you call the police to come get him! Good luck to you. hmmbrdzz |
