What if you can't post bail?

IWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? illinois

My friend was stopped for a traffic issue..they ran his name and noticed there was an outstanding warrant from 98. They took him on Friday...we went to court on Saturday morning...they posted a 10,000 bond. I couldn't come up with the money in time, so they transferred him down to cook county jail. What happens now? I didn't hear a court date given.

He sits in jail till bond is posted or his court date, which ever comes first.
