What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
I was arrested for a warrent that was issued in 2005 for fraud just a couple weeks ago. bonded out and went to court only to find out that the statutes of limitations on the offense ran out and the case was dissmissed
question.. should i just leave things alone or file lawsuit for false arrest?

There is no basis for a lawsuit. You had a warrant for your arrest and you got arrested. The police have no obligation to check if the statute is up on every warrant.

I'd say you are lucky. Generally the warrant wouldn't have been issued if charges weren't filed and that puts an end to the SOL timer.

Still, it wasn't false arrest.
