What Would Be Grounds For**************

What is the name of your state? PA

IN 2004 I was arrested for numerous charges. At the time of my arrest I was an employee at an ABC-TV affiliate in Pittsburgh, Pa. The way I was arrested was weird because I was served a warrant at my job on a day that I was not working. I ended up being arrested the next day at a hearing i had for traffic tickets in the same magistrate. As a result of my employer witnessing police officers serving a warrant for my arrest at my job i was fired. Now this wasn't any old sunday paper classifieds job. This was a career i had that was a reflection of my degree in television production. It was very hard to land this job. Anyhow i attempted to apply at the other television stations in the area, but to my surprise i was apparently blackballed from all the stations because of the alledged charges brought against me. What i don't understand is that if the police officers had my home address (which they did cause it was on the warrant) and if they knew that i would be at their magistrate the following day for a hearing (which they did because i was arrested there), why would they intentionally serve the warrant at my job? This devastated me because it totally destroyed my career, which i spent 4 1/2 years studying at a university to be able to get into the television profession.

Now after two years of postponements and delays I finally was brought to trial. 5 charges were dismissed and 4 charges were outright thrown out by a judge infuriated by the prosecutions rediculous case. This left me free and clear of all of my charges. Let me get to the point. So i recently attempted to get back into the television field in my area, with a free and clear background only to have the door slammed in my face. Apparently the way the warrant was served at my job made me look like a convicted fellon and the tv employers of the area refuse to let me back in the door. My question is this: Is this grounds for a lawsuit? And if so who do i sue?, The police officers, the police stations, the jurisdiction, the tv stations or all of the above. Please respond because i feel like half a decade of my life has been wasted because i can't pursue the field that i studied in school.

No, and No.

It is our unanimous opinion that you are damn right and it should be obvious to any moron that your (ex) (SO’s ex) (boss) (landlord) (local police) should be immediately (jailed) (fired) (reprimanded) (arrested) (demoted) (shot) (evicted).
In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

Sorry. There is nothing you can do against the police or any other government agency based on what you've said. They did nothing wrong. To get a warrant a neutral and detached magistrate found there was probable cause for the arrest. The officers can serve it in any way they want. (Within certain paramaters which are not relevant here.)

The facts which lead to the warrant or charges in the first place are your only option. How did they come about?
