When the police stop caring

What is the name of your state? Massachusetts

Three months ago, at a retail store, my credit card information was stolen, allegedly by the cashier, and used on pornography sites. When I saw the charges on my credit card, I called the numbers, got the AOL email addresses from which they were charged, and called the police. In fact, what made it easy for me to track is that the individual had to have the three digit number on the back of the card in order to access the web sites. I never hand my card over to anyone, and the charges started right after I'd gone to this store.

I gave the officer the receipt from the store, my statements etc. The officer told me he requested a subpoena from AOL but three months later, I'm wondering if it really happened. After repeated calls to the officer which weren't returned, I filed a report with the Attorney General's office. To do so, I picked up a copy of the police report and there was no mention of the retailer or AOL. Today I spoke to the Attorney generals consumer lawyer who, after trying to make progress after three weeks, said the police officer is stonewalling her, won't return her calls, even asked his father to call her, and without any information to go on, she has no parties to mediate and there is no case. Both the retailer and AOL said they haven't been notified. I have to believe this officer knew someone at the retail store, may be protecting them and has done very little if anything to solve this case.

What's my next step? There is no doubt the card number was stolen, I cancelled it right away, but in three months, this person could have stolen a lot of other numbers. I suffered no financial loss because I caught in time, but it makes it no less of a crime, or does it?

When police stop caring...

No, not with the store. I had given all the information to the police officer. He never suggested that, but did say he went into the store a number of times to the point where he told me 'I think it's this guy, there have been other complaints'. The officer has my receipt, but other than that, I could go forward with the store. However until the AOL addresses are confirmed, it's an accusation. I can't prove anything.

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
