Will Mayor's Court appearance go on Permanent record

I'm from Ohio, my boyfriend and I were cited $155/ea for disorderly conduct (we were arguing in public) in Loudonville, OH, but the offence is going to Mayor's court.
When we called the court, we asked, if we payed, would the charges go on our permanent record, the lady we spoke with said "no, someone would have to come here and search for it"

I just want to confirm that that is, indeed, the correct answer
