will u be arrested for this? What is the name of your state? NC Hi, If a person leaves the scene of an accident do they get arrested or just ticketed??? What happens if they are convicted of this ( i heard they can lose their liscense and possible community service time)?? also, what is the statue of limitations on this crime, meaning if someone hit you and left the scene how long do you have to find who did it and prosecute them before they can no longer be punished? thanks |

| It would depend on the severity of the accident. Fail To Stop and Render Aid/Fail To Stop and Provide Info can be misdemeanors which would mean they do have a statute of limitations which is set forth by your state's legislature. If the damage is over a certain amount or there was injury involved it can be a felony charge which again changes the limitations. |
