What is the name of your state? I live in Georgia. I recently put a warrant out for the arrest of my boyfriend. We have no children together and do not, nor have we ever lived together. We had a physical fight while he was drunk on Friday Sept 29 and I put the warrant out for him that day. This is the only fight we've ever had in 3 years and I have never had him arrested or attempted to press any charges against him before. He has since scheduled himself for counseling to help his anger management and apologized profusely. I injured him in the fight more than he did me and I just found out that he is still on probation for a dui charge which he completed from 2 years ago. I wanted him to get the counseling stated in the warrant and to be punished, but I did not want him to actually serve time. I am now worried that he will go to jail in lieu of paying the fine and performing the things stated in the warrant. He has not been served yet, but planned to go down and turn himself in and show evidence that he is supposed to go to counseling. Is there anything I can do to cancel the warrant for his arrest or prevent him from going to jail? Will he go to jail if he turns himself in? If so, how long will he go to jail for?
