Worried mom

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? In
my son was arrested in west layfayette for controlled substance, alcohol, pot, he had small amont of the pot and alcohol, but he did have 2 addreall and 2 ritalan pills. should we work with a puplic defender or should be get a lawyer..what are possible consequences? we dont even know where to start?

YOu should start with grounding him, removing his butt from the garden of eden and making him get a job to pay for the legal fees, fines and whatever other costs he will have.

With what exactly was he charged? You also may want to get your son into rehab, attending AA and NA and counseling.

Public defenders are attorneys.

But pubic defenders are not -- which is how I first read that and I couldn't bring myself to respond.
