What is the name of your state? CLAREMONT- NORTH CAROLINA...me and my fiance got into an argument....the argument got heated and he broke something we bought together---me not being able to control of myself--starting getting back at him by hitting myself---not thinking of not being on my meds-i punched myself and threw myself across his weight set leaving quite a few very bad bruises and swelling---he then slapped me and said stop which i did...i knew this would hurt him more than the figurines we bought---i left our house and went to the corner store---the store clerk saw my red marks on me and ask if i was o.k--- i told her i just have to cool off and collect myself...she called the claremont police dpmt...and they went and arrested my fiance and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury- a class e felony...even after i told the police---this is not his fault---they still arrested him and charged him with the whole thing...then the investigating officer told me i was filling out an address verification form---turns out it was a complaint form---they said i had broken bones and fractures---which my medical records from the catawba memorial hospital show no broken bones or fractures---they still charged him with everything---i hired an attorny to fix this whole thing but all he could do for the amount of money that i had at the time was get the no contact law struck....how is this right---i pressed no charges because i knew it wasent his fault i flipped out---they never read his miranda rights or took his statement and lied on the police report--then told me to fill out an address verification form which was really a complaint form--i was so upset i just signed the paper and never read it---i feel taken advantage of big time---plus they told me it was only for verification of my address--i believed them---after all--- their the police....i cant afford another attorny---my fiance was affraid that dss would take my kids because i didnt have my meds---so on the jail phone he knew the law was listening to our conversations and made it sound like he did it all---so d.s.s wouldnt take my kids until i could get medicade to get my synthroid for my thyroid gland...synthroid helps my hormones balance because i have an underactive thyroid...after not having my synthroid for over two months i kind of freaked out on him -----God how can i fix this mess---i have my medicine now and him back in my life---but he now has a full blown felony for assault on a female inflicting serious injury...i was told by a friend that if they dont read you--your miranda rights---the whole thing could be thrown out of court---he plead no contest after 134 days in jail and is going to M.A.T classes--i had a girfriend who was one of those "take him back kind even if he was awful to her types" and this is not the case bar none---he is a good man who has put up with alot from me---including surgeries and loving my kids as his own---"please" if you can advise me on who or what i should or can do to fix this whole thing---i live on a fixed income and cant afford an attorny---me and my kids just cant beleive this whole thing--"feeling hopeless in Claremont N.C" thank you for any and all help...Dawn
