Yet another Warrant QuestionWhat is the name of your state? Ca In 1999, I worked for a company that some individuals engaged in illegal activity (phone order thing). Within the company, I was named as one of the people. The company stated that they MAY contact police if the clients wanted it, and the company attourney felt it was needed. At the time I was on probation. Once this went down, I consulted a couple of attourneys and got mixed info. One attourney said that it was an internal company thing and that a DA wouldnt waste time, another attourney said it was a felony and that I should hire him right away (this guy also claimed they could arrest me for something petty and hold me for years pending trial...so I need a good attourney because a PD would not defend me well enough). I was on probation (unrelated) for the next 2 years (Felony) and in regular contact with the probation department. I completed my probation 2 years later, paid all fines, and moved on. I have not tried to hide (though I am always quite...never get pulled over...) and people have known where to find me, though I have moved a couple of times (but the collectors always found me). I have never heard anything about the company thing from anyone. No police ever contaced me. My probation officer never said anything. I contacted the Sherrifs departments in the 2 counties that the company does business and asked their warrant division if I have a warrant (1 year after the event occured) and was told no, and did one of those online warrant searches where you name the county and they send someone to look it up (also a no). I since moved and gotten a new Drivers License (In WA with no problems) and travel by air about 3 times a month (with no problems). I have also filed 2 police reports (vehicle break-in)..they took my name and DOB....and didnt come knocking later on. Should I feel pretty safe that I have no warrant? I feel that I have done everything I can do short of walking into the DAs office and making an appointment (something I just cant get myself to do...besides, I now live 1000 miles away in any event.....who knows what counties DA I would contact) to find out in order to take care of it. Thanks for your thoughts |

| If a warrant DOES exist it seems apparent that nobody has made a diligent attempt to find you. I wouldn't worry about it unless if pops up. 6 years has apparently passed and if they haven't done anything by now, it ain't gonna happen. - Carl

| Thanks, I am hoping that the case is that no warrant exists. I have really made my life turn around and want it keep it that way at this point. Have a good day! |
