I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Put it into a trust account where you he cannot touch until 18.

I AM ALWAYS LIABLE

My response:

The court will require that the settlement money be placed into a "blocked" account, until the child is 18. Whomever was named as the guardian ad litem for the child in the lawsuit will control the account.

If there wasn't a lawsuit, the court will name a "Conservator" for the account.
