What is the name of your state? CA

OK...This is for my parents. My 23 year old brother (whom lives at home) was driving my parents car last week and was in a major accident. There were several cars involved. 1 person in injured (so far). My brother has insurance..but just the min required by law.

My parents are angry & scared. They have at least $450,000.00 in equity in their home. Their auto coverage is 100/300 (too low...I told them) Can they be sued because they own the car????? What if the injuries and damge exceed $300,00.00????

My response:

The complexities of your question are too much for a forum. I could write pages on this subject.

However, when your parents are sued (and they will be, right along with your brother), they will be assigned to a defense attorney at no cost through their insurance company. That attorney will go over all the facts, and explain everything to your parents.
