Accident, Additional repair needed later date.

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? CA (California)

I was in an Auto Accident on 12/30/04. Both parties had no passengers in vehicles. Party 1 Me (Insurer Progressive), was approaching an intersection with a dedicated (solid) green, with an available turning lane which was accessible at the intersection. The posted speed limit is 35MPH, I was driving 30MPH due to weather conditions, had been raining. I approached the intersection and was going to proceed through it, and Party 2-other driver (Insurer State Farm), decided to make his left turn right in front of me. I braked and swerved to the left, hit his passenger rear tire. We pulled our vehicles to the side and exchanged insurance, personal, and vehicle information. No police report was filed, he insisted. I gathered some estimates for State Farm, my car was in the shop for ten days, quoted seven, delay in parts total $3,700.00 + Rental = $4,200.00. The bodywork was complete I pickup the car and go home.

A month and a half later (now) I finally took the vehicle on the Freeway, paranoid of all drivers. As I reached speeds of 60-65, the steering wheel was vibrating rapidly. I did not choose to call the original body shop for repairs of this problem. I choose to visit the car dealership VW Stevens Creek; I wanted a professional and authorized inspection. I was given a second rental and called later that day with damages. $1,200.00. The dealership believes some suspension and steering parts are accident related and others may be "normal wear and tear". I am concerned, because I am left with paying almost $600.00 to finish some repair. I feel that I need to pay nothing at all.

I did not get to inspect the car myself; I am concerned if the auto body shop overlooked car body and parts 'negligence'. State Farm dispatched an "estimator" today to look at the vehicle. I am waiting for a response from the dealership and/or State Farm.

I have GAP insurance; the cars total repairs have reached $4,900.00. State Farm is keeping me on edge with the end result and final say.

Problems later down the road did not appear until highway speeds. I want to hold accident accountable. I did not know the vehicle had failing parts. My safety was in question during the 1 1/2 months.

I need some advice, please. Any would be helpful. Adrian
