Accident In Ice!

OREGON

I was in an accident today, I was driving down a hill where the street was covered with ice , before i went down the hill there was already a four car accident below, i came down the hill lost control due to the ice and skimed one car and hit the side of another. Is this my fault and does my insurance have to pay for the damages?

Yes, the accident would be considered your fault since you lost control of your car & hit the other cars. It might even be considered that you were driving too fast for conditions. The drivers of the other cars will most likely be submitting claims to your ins. co.

However you are only responsible for the damage your car caused, not what was due to the accident before you got there.
