JAMES, NEW YORKWhat is the name of your state? New York, My son james was in an accident on May 11, 2002,
and now Im being summond by an attorney of a passenger in
the other car, for personal injuries substained. Am I liable for this accident
as the vehicle was insured, and I was out on the country when it happened.
Also can I be sued personally? As my son is a college student with no
real income, will he be covered by my insurance co as he was not on
my coverage.

If you were owner of the car, then yes you can be sued. You need to check your policy to see if your insurance would cover him.

Why in the heck wouldn't you have him on your policy?

1.) Check with insurance company, if that falls through then;

2.) get an attorney.

3.) If you get sued and lose then you can sue your son.
