Accident Liability

I am a resident of the state of Michigan. Recently, my daughter let a friend of hers borrow her car, and the girl (not my daughter) was in a car accident. Our insurance policy lists the drivers that are covered by the policy. Since this girl is not on our insurance policy, is there any way that my family could be held liable for the car she hit?

Your daughter gave permission for the friend to borrow the car, so she should be covered as a driver. She doesn't have to be specifically named in order to be covered.
