Accident, Other Driver No Insurance!

My sister-in-law's daughter was hit by another driver who told her that she had no insurance. When police got on the scence she was told that the other driver had insurance and my sister-in-law's insurance company said she should get about $500 from the other insurance company even though both drivers had PL/PD on their cars because the other driver was issued a ticket. Now the insurance company says that the other driver had no insurance and recommended that she takes the other driver to small claims court. Need your advise on what to do next, and if it needs to go to small claims court how much can she sue for and how do you start this process?

If the at-fault driver had no insurance then your only recourse is to sue. Hopefully in small claims court. $500 would fall under that jurisdiction.
