airbag did not deploy

What is the name of your state? nebraska
i had an accident last night and my car was totalled. i luckily escaped with only small injury to my ankle. the other person was found at fault and we both have insurance.
however, most disturbing, neither of my airbags deployed. i am concerned about what could have happened. what should my next action be regarding this? my car was a 2003 ford escape.

Accidents that do not result in airbag deployment, but nonetheless total the car, are commonplace. Report the fact that the airbags did not deploy to your insurance company.
