Is the AOAO liable?

Hi, can anyone help me? I am the owner of
an apartmernt. Few days ago, my car
which was parked in my parking stall was damaged by
the person that parked adjacent to my stall. Since I
have no witnesses and no proof as to who is
responsible, I have to burden the cost of the repairs
which I got an estimate for $500-$700. I was told
that the resident manager forgot to insert a video
tape into the secuity system that monitors the parking
lot. Therefore, the incident was not recorded and I
have no way finding out who is responsible for the
cause of the damage to my car.

I already filed a claim with my car insurance
provider. Although my car insurance will cover most
of the costs of the repair, I still have to pay the
remaining amount. For my situation, are the AOAO liable to some extent and will I be able to file some kind of claim with the AOAO?

Opinion!

Unless you called the police to report the accident and they could determine if another car hit yours by checking paint or other evidence forget it.

There was no witnesses so I did not report it to the police. I have an idea who is responsible but I have no proof. It was the same day my new neighbors were moving in. My neighbor's parking stall is adjacent to mine.

My car was parked in my stall and had the car covers on. Because of the car cover, there are no markings except for a deep scratch and a very visible dent on the fender.

When the incident occured, my car alarm sounded and I rushed out to investigate. Of coourse no one in sight! Right away, I informed Resident Manager and in turn AOAO learned of the incident.

What is aoao?

Shop around. Some body shops will agree to do the work for the amount you are reimbursed from insurance. But be sure to specify in writing how you want the car repaired such as new parts vs. using bondo to fill dents. Also if you get a police report you will be entitled to claim the loss balance on your federal taxes as a casualty loss.Hope this helps.
