| Attorney missing statute of limitations date I had a non at fault accident October 23, '99. I have some permanent physical injuries from this accident and am still in therapy. My lawyer just informed me that he missed the statute of limitations on my case. Said it was the first time in 20 years that this has happened to him. I understand this to mean that we've lost our leverage with the other insurance company..right? How does this affect my uninsured/underinsured case? He said not all is lost..he is going to continue to try to settle with the insurance companies. He also said he has insurance for 'just this sort of thing'. Not being familiar with this sort of thing at all, what is my best course of action in this case? Is my attorney handling this dilemma properly?
Thank you in advance
