Auto Accident

What is the name of your state? Georgia

I backed up and clipped the sheet metal of an enclosed trailer that covers the tire. When the owner showed up I explained what happened and he said he had a friend that could repair it and there was no problem. Three months later he is sending me an estimate for $540. Only 1 estimate has been gotten. Accident wasn't reported to police or my insurance company. What should I do?

1. Pay the estimate OR
2. Report it to the insurance company.
