auto accident

:confused
:

Hi, I was in a car accident last weekend (in Buffalo, Ny)
It was the other drivers fault.
I was going striaght through an intersection and she was comming towards me from the opposite direction an dmade a left hand turn right in front of me and we colided.
My car is totaled and now I have no transportation and it was towed to a storage place or something.
I called my insurance co. to see about a rental car, and they told me to pay for it upfront and I would get reimbursed, probably later, from the other driver's insurance co., then I asked about the towing and storage fees for the place that is holding my car, and once again they said to pay for it upfront and the other drivers insurance co. will probably pay me back later, and the same with my and my passenger's medical bills, I don't have the money to pay for all this upfront and I don't know what to do....
I told my insurance company this, and they tried to get in touch with the other driver and the insurance co. that was listed as hers on the police report has no record of her, so I don't know where I am supposed to go from here, and either does my insurance co.?
Please help me if you can...

Hi Heather,

Get out your auto insurance policy. Do you carry rental car coverage? Medical payments coverage? Collision coverage? Uninsured Motorist Coverage? Uninsured Motorist Property Damage coverage? The answer to your question is really dependent upon what type of coverage you carry on your auto policy.
