Auto accident

state:louisiana - it recently came to my attention that my father(now deceased) was hit from behind by another vehicle while in his company car. his company's lawyer subsequently arrived at the hospital (broken ribs) and began questioning him. no settlement was ever brought to my family's attention and it never occured to us to pursue legal avenues. the accident occured approximately 2 years ago. is there a statute of limitations on auto accident litigation in louisiana?

and only broken ribs.He may have been entitled to a workmans comp. settlement(small) medical bills and partial loss of wages. In Illinois its three years to file a claim.
I broke three ribs at work and was told by a lawyer that I would not receive much if anything because ribs heal and there is no permanent loss.
