Auto accident

State(Illinois).
I was in a car accident and the other driver's car insurance mailed me a check to get my car out of the body shop. But the check never got to me. they found out it was deposited in a bank account. I contact the police and the post office for mail fraude.
Meanwhile I am paying $150 a week for the rental car I am driving.
What should I do.

If you can

pay and get your car out as you might not be able to get the insurance to pay for the extended rental fee due to not receiving settlement.Call the ins co. and ask if they are paying.If they refuse you would have to fight for it in court.See where im coming from?
