My brother was recently seriously injured in a car accident. An off duty police officer followed him from a place he was working saying that he was driving erratically. My brother drove a 1983 truck that he had recently done work on. The place he had work on his truck did not do the suspension correctly so the alignment was off, which would explain the driving. He crashed into a tree and says that his brakes went out (he had had problems with them before). His car is totalled. He is interested in taking legal action against the place who worked on his car. Another problem, he does not have much money. I am looking for a course of action and any referrals for a lawyer in the Bay Area who will talk to him and wait for payment upon settling.
