Auto Accident/Can I (personally) be sued?

I had an auto accident last week - I live in South Florida. Police, ambulance, fire truck were there. My fault, I received the ticket.
The other car (a SUV) had front end damage, probably fixable.
My car was totaled - heard from the insurance company already.
I have minor injuries and have already been to the doctor.

The other car was occupied by two women, both (if I remember correctly) pregnant (yikes!). Their car had front end damage. The airbag did NOT go off. They were looked at by the paramedics and did not go to the hospital in the ambulance.

My question is this....Can I be personally sued for anything? Everyone I have spoken to so far says that my Insurance Company will handle any lawsuit that may come my way.

Your thoughts, please.

Dear Susan

I am in a similiar situation to yourself, I knocked a cyclist of his bike at a roundabout, I would like to know what replies you have had about being sued "personally"

As the at fault party, you are liable for most expenses. If sued, you will be the party sued. Your insurance company per your policy, will pay certain expenses up to the maximum limits of your policy less any deductables. You are liable and can be sued for any expenses above your policy limits. And your insurance company will provide legal counsel if you are sued. Your insurance agent will explain everything to you. Just give him/her a call.

careless driving

I also have to go to the police station to make a statement regarding the above accident. I think they want to charge me with careless driving. I do not think was completely to blaim, also I am a sales representatine and a driving ban would loose my job. Do you think ythe court would take this into considerstion?

Regretably, any response that you view on this forum will ONLY apply to US law and not to the laws and practices of foreign lands (England).

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
