What is the name of your state? IL

I have just received a form from my Insurance Company that there may be a lawsuit regarding an accident I was involved in 2 yrs ago. I haven't received a summons yet. In traffic court, I got rid of this traffic case with the help of a lawyer, and it isn't present on my record. My insurance company ended up paying for the mess on both side. My question is that since the ticket was eliminated from my record in traffic court, what is the chance that a negligent lawsuit can happen.

100% . why would the ticket have any bearing on the lawsuit?

I mean to say that I understand a lawsuit can occur. But what are the chances, the other party will win the lawsuit. My statefarm agent claimed that other party has a lesser shot of winning the lawsuit, if I was proven innocent/case was thrown out in the traffic court.

Might have some bearing but don't count on it as any indication of vindication.

The fact that the state did not see fit to prosecute you has no real bearing on what happens in a civil case. look at OJ Simpson
