for committing an improper lane change (in the process of committing an illegal u-turn) and their insurance claims the liability is 50/50 because I failed to maintain proper lookout. I couldn't avoid them because they swung into my lane and immediately hit the brakes and started to turn and I have liability only on my car. Their insurance says the point of impact supports their decision. I have damage to the direct front of my car (grill, hood) they have a tear in their left rear quarter panel. The estimate on my car is $3,000.
