Auto conpensation

What is the name of your state?Tx My wife and her mom where in an auto accident,when they went to see a injury doctor he suggests to get a lawyer or no service.He suggested one too them.They contacted him and set up a meeting in which he said they would recive thousands of dollars.

They hired him.After 3 month he said he could only could come up with 3650.00 from the insurance company.

He then told my wife and mother in law that after spliting the doctor and lawyer bills,they will only receive $100.00

Does this sound right?
