I live in Tennessee.

I was charged with fleeing an accident (one car - friend's house - no injury - minimal damage), no license, no insurance, and possession of Schedule VI (pipe - no actual marijuana).

My car is currently impounded and has been for three days. How long are the police legally allowed to possess my car before releasing it?

Thank you.

Until you are found NOT guilty!

If you are guilty of the drug charge you may forfeit the vehcile or you will have to pay for the towing and storage...and

I guess the drugs have affected your thinking...

Do you think the police would release your car to you without valid paid up insurance, and a valid drivers license and registration?
