Auto insurance

I live in North Carolina with my wife and I want to know how I can take my wife off my auto insurance policy (without having to get legally separated!). She is 21 yrs. old and just got her liscence February 2002, no previous driving experience. I can't afford the insurance for much longer. When I called the insurance company for my balance, I found out that they had already put her as an operator without me knowing about it. What can I do?

She can give up her drivers liscense

and ins will take her off.
