Auto Manufacturer Retribution

my wife and 7 month old son were in a car accident. other drivers fault. they were cited failure to yield to oncoming traffic. wfes car goig 40mph on hiway with cross streets. other party tries to cross 4 lanes of traffic and they collide at driver front left of wifes car and passenger front right of other. wifes car is '98 Honda Civic LX with safety features including Air bags which DID NOT Deploy. Both cars were totaled out. ISSUE?: can I sue Honda for faulty safety equipment and mental suffering? Damages sought: Retail Price of '98 Civic LX and possibly full coverage insurance payments for 4 years for a car whose safety features FAILED in a potentially debilitating or fatal accident?

I don't think the airbags are designed to deploy in the type of impact you describe.

Although the words you use to describe the accident are mutually exclusive. "They" could not have "collided" with the "front left" of your wifes car. If "they" did the "colliding" then the impact would have been to the "left front" and the airbags in the steering wheel and passenger dash would not have deployed.
