Awaiting 1995 slip and fall case to be finalised

What is the name of your state? I am in New York and live in NY City.I had an accident in 1995 and I am still waiting for this case to be settled.My lawyer does not communicate with me at a level I expect.Does anyone know how I can find out when my case will come to trial?When I started this slip and fall case against the City Of New York I didn't think I would be still dealing with this 8 years later.My frustration level is beyond description at this point.My case is "in the system"...but where is my problem
