My friend lives in Denver, Colorado, and was in an auto accident 3 years ago, for which he received the ticket. At the time, he was insured. The woman with whom he was involved in the accident is now suing him, saying because of the accident she has sustained injuries that do not allow her to persue a living. Does she have the right to sue him for this accident? What role does his insurance company (now former) have in this? Any feedback would be welcome.

If your friend had bodily injury liability insurance he needs to send the suit papers registered return receipt to his former carrier, ASAP. They have a duty to defend and will answer the compalaint. If he waits too long she can get a default judgement against him for not filing an answer with-in the alotted time, usually 20 days.
