Boyfriend rear ended someone in my car

I live in Arizona and just over a year ago i lent my boyfriend my car and he rear ended a woman with minor damage to her car which my insurance paid. She had been in an accident the previous week. My insurance is paying her medical bills because she says she suffered a herniated disc in her back. My insurance is reaching it's limit on my policy and she's trying to sue now. What can I do? I don't have any financial assets. Shouldn't my insurance have contacted me regarding her injury? I had no knowledge of it until now.
