I was making a left turn on a two lane, country highway with no traffic coming my direction. It was a broken line allowing a left turn. My signal was blinking. A car approached from behind me and pulled out to pass on my left and broadsided me in the door, clipped my fender and proceeded on past me. A second vehicle pulled out to pass that vehicle and broadsided me just behind the door jam. The first vehicle finally stopped about a mile down the road. The second vehicle stopped immediately because the fender turned into the tire and their windshield was broken.
CHP report and investigation found me not at fault. It was estimated that the vehicles hit me at 50mph.
Both insurance companies of the vehicles have admitted to share the fault 50/50
It is nearly two years since the accident and I am still under a doctor's care for pain. I cannot work as I once could. Pain is in my neck and back. I have difficulty standing for long periods of time. No physical deformities, just pain.
I got an accident injury attorney about a month after the accident. I had memory problems at first and had trouble keeping things together. Pain in the neck and back, difficult in standing for long lenths of time. The attorney has done nothing. I cannot work. What can I do now? What are my options? When are the limits to claim expire? What happens if I do not get any better? I feel I could work but just not as long or the same type as before. The attorney tells me nothing can be done until I am finished with the doctors. |
